The number 1 thing I’ve noticed with different clients over the years is that clients with purely just a weight loss goal tend to not stick at training for too long. What I see happen is they start training, get the initial benefit of feeling good and drop a few kgs. But, before too long they drift off and slip into whatever their old routine was.
On the flip side, clients I see that have goals such as ”I just want to lead a healthy life,” or ”I’m training for x event” tend to stick to training- and it just becomes a working part of their life and habits.
So in summary- I feel that weight loss is a really good initial goal to get you started, but as one progresses something bigger than ourselves is needed if we are to continue at healthy habits and training.
